It was announced today that Dante Exum will not be competing in the 2016 Rio Olympics.
Exum expressed in a statement released from the Utah Jazz that his main focus was to prepare for the upcoming season ahead and continue to rehabilitate.
"At this stage the most important thing for me right now is to continue training. It’s been great to be back on the court competing, and I’m really motivated to help the Jazz have a successful season this year.
My support and best wishes will be with the Boomers this summer, and I look forward to future opportunities to represent my home country."
His announcement doesn't come as much of a surprise after coming off his ACL tear he suffered playing for the Boomers in August last year, but is a huge blow for the Boomers roster nevertheless as Ben Simmons also announced he will not be playing, and Andrew Bogut still questionable after suffering a bruised knee in game 5 of the NBA Finals.
